As all our parcels are sent Special Delivery or Recorded Delivery we were mostly unaffected by last month’s Royal Mail strikes. It was a huge shock on Wednesday afternoon to discover that several parcels had been delayed due to further strikes.
I would like to apologise to all customers whose orders arrived late and thank them for their patience and understanding. We tried our best to relay the information given by Royal Mail to you – but were on occasion let down by the lack of reliable information.
I have been advised by Royal Mail that we will be able to claim compensation on delayed mail. We will fill in claim forms and refund customers accordingly over the next couple of weeks.
Normal delivery service resumed on Friday – although some of the mail sent on Thursday was delayed. Deliveries for Monday and Tuesday should be delivered as normal. Further delays are expected on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday next week.
I will try and relay any further information to you as we get it.
You can find further information on Royal Mail strikes on the BBC web site or on Royal Mail’s site.
