Soon after the birth of a new baby, new parents often find they receive huge amounts of cards, baby gifts and flowers. When my baby boys were born, we received so many bouquets that it wasn’t long before we’d run out of vases and displayed flowers in buckets and jugs.

I like your idea about new baby gifts. I know of a site where you can give tasteful gifts such as a crystal pacifier (for boy or girl), hanging crib cross (for girl or boy) or a choice of adorable gift baskets that would be purfect of either a shower gift or the new baby. I always like to give a personalized baby gift that is special. I found a hand painted plate with the babies name and birth date on it at http://www.mamabebe.com that was perfect for my girlfriend that is expecting.
