Big Fat Balloons has put together a convenient and practical guide for buying gifts for new born babies. While flowers are a traditional option, Big Fat Balloons has a host of gift ideas that will delight new parents.
“While all gifts are very welcome, some are more useful than others. Also, if you don’t have children of your own, it can be difficult to know which gifts parents will find most useful,” said Sophie Baxter, managing director, Big Fat Balloons.
“Even gifts like flowers require a little bit of thought. Hospitals only have a limited supply of vases, so ordering arrangements in a basket or with their own water reservoir makes it much more convenient for the new mum. Equally, such arrangements are easier to transport when the new parents leave hospital.”

For a friend’s birthday, I wanted to give her something that little bit different. While looking for something a little bit quirky that she’d like, I discovered stuffed balloons – a cute teddy bear inside a huge and beautifully presented balloon. My friend thought it was fantastic and still had it on display weeks after her birthday.
I was so impressed that we’ve now launched a range of teddy bears in balloons. They’re perfect gifts for that ‘special someone who has everything’.

Stripy Horse is a brightly coloured, loose-limbed horse whose books are aimed at pre-school children. With bright colours to engage young children and imaginative stories to keep them entertained, Stripy Horse is fast becoming a children’s favourite.

Surprisingly, Spot, the lovable puppy famed for his antics in a range of Spot the dog illustrated stories, turned 30 this year. Created by Eric Hill, Spot first appeared in the book, ‘Where’s Spot?’ in 1980. Over the years, his popularity has grown and now Spot stories are enjoyed by children around the world.
Spot stories are simple and educational, featuring Spot; his mum, Sally; dad, Sam; and friends Helen the blue hippo, Steve the monkey, and Tom the green friendly crocodile.
