Solving the Father’s Day Gift Problem

Friday, June 8th, 2007

Do dads really deserve Father’s Day? After all, don’t they just embarrass us by telling our friends how we used to run around the garden in a pair of red wellies and nothing else, or taking over the dance floor at family parties with their cringeworthy ‘dad dance’?

But then again, dads are good as a free taxi service, good at fixing things and always ready to offer sound advice – even if you don’t always want to hear it. So perhaps on balance, one day a year isn’t too bad to say thanks for putting up with us kids (whatever our age).

6 Simple Tips to Buy Great Birthday Gifts for Kids

Saturday, June 2nd, 2007

Does a kid’s birthday party invitation leave you wondering what gift to buy them? It certainly did me when my three and four year old boys got invited to another birthday party last week…

Valentine’s Day

Tuesday, February 20th, 2007

With Valentine’s day just gone we have been extremely busy sending out heaps of Valentine gifts. As well as “local” UK customers, we got people from New Zealand, the United States, Germany, Lichtenstein, Brazil, Hong Kong and British soldiers posted in Iraq ordering Valentine gifts for their loved ones in the UK.

Preparing what was our largest amount of orders so far on a given day was hard work and required some serious planning. However if was hugely satisfying to receive your feedback and messages such as Lesley’s below made all the hard work worthwhile.

Christmas Stress Management - 5 Tips to Keep You From Getting in a Festive Panic

Tuesday, November 28th, 2006

Listening to the conversation that two of my girlfriends where having over coffee last week, it drew on me they very much sounded like over-worked A Level students about to sit their exams… “I’ll be glad when it’s all over… I simply don’t have a minute for myself… I don’t see how I can possibly get everything done”.

I am sure you have guessed from the title of this post – they weren’t taking exams they were just talking about Christmas… and instead of looking forward to a bit of family fun, they felled stressed, tired and under pressure.

While the “official” countdown to Christmas starts on the 1st of December, most of us start thinking about and preparing for Christmas a little before (why else would the high street shops put their Christmas range out in the summer!).

I’ve compiled a simple “Countdown to Christmas” to help you get organised this Christmas – and avoid stress all together. Enjoy the countdown to Christmas!

New! Helium Christmas Balloons

Tuesday, October 31st, 2006

Don’t you agree that the best part of Christmas is the anticipation? In the weeks before you find yourself counting off the days on the Advent calendar, trimming the tree, watching the kids’ nativity play (complete with tea-towel toting shepherds) and of course joining in the endless round of Christmas parties.

I am not the type to prepare for Christmas in July - or even November! – I am not organised enough for this. However I have been preparing Big Fat Balloon’s Christmas and our Christmas helium balloons are online and ready to order for those who what to send friends and relatives something different.
